Healthy eating online: 2 workshops, 2 venues
Workshop 1, focusing on MedlinePlus, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) health portal for consumers, plus other government and nonprofit Web sites, will be presented Saturday February 13, 11am-noon at the library, and Thursday, February 25, 7-8:30 pm in the deli section of the Food Co-op. Workshop 2 features NLM’s PubMed database of medical literature, including how to set up alerts and personal subject collections with MyNCBI, and takes place Saturday, February 27, 11am-noon at the library and Thursday, March 11, 7-8:30pm at the Co-op. The free series is presented by the library’s “Serving Up Resources for Healthy Eating” project coordinator Carol Cahill. If you’d like, bring your own laptop and try out the featured sites.
